In April 2018, my grandmother passed away. This series was created to honor my grandmother, who was a painter, and my grandfather who was a carpenter. The wood reflects the idea of aging and memory - the smaller wood with lesser rings holds the image of my grandparents' wedding all the way to the larger piece that holds the last photo taken of my grandmother.
